Politics this morning

Attorney General Eric Holder has now ‘decided to follow the evidence’ and his moral training as an attorney to investigate and prosecute those involved in harsh interrogation techniques especially the CIA interrogators. This is supposed to be against the wishes of the President who said that he wanted to move forward.

Here’s what I believe. Healthcare has become a debacle and is sharply dropping the President and his dreams of a socialist state like a hot potato. In keeping with Saul Alinsky’s rule number 8 (Rules for Radicals), "Keep the pressure on. Never let up. Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance; as the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new; (attack, attack, attack from all sides, never giving the reeling organization a chance to rest, regroup, recover and re-strategize;” we encounter Attorney General Holder as the next player on the tactical stage for the President. They keep switching agendas until we tire of the game and finally give in.

The issue is passing healthcare at any cost to the Nation, those elected and any other damage that may occur. The administration knows that the sense of security to our Nation is tantamount to our strength. It (the administration) is dismantling that security any way it can. Take a look at the financial and insurance markets coming to hand at the President’s duress; prosecuting not investigating intelligence operatives; renaming the War on Terror to Overseas Contingency Operations; nationalizing healthcare; amnesty and citizenship to those here illegally – all as a means to destroy this Nation.

Once this Nation’s debt is entirely held by the Chinese (which is where we’re headed), we’re to go whimpering into the long night. This President is anti-America. He is a communist and a totalitarian-style leader.

Covenant

As we follow Abram’s path to covenant with God we see that God reached for Abram while he was an alien in the land of Canaan. Abram and Sarai were determined by God to be the people upon whom God would build posterity. Abram did exactly what God said. In a word Abram was obedient. Are we obedient as Abram was obedient? Would we do what Abram did? In response to Abram’s obedience God granted Abram and his heirs the land where they lived and God said that He would be their God. Abram began the hard work and his heirs were expected to keep the covenant made with God, “And I will give to you, and to your offspring after you, the land where you are now an alien, all the land of Canaan, for a perpetual holding; and I will be their God.” (Genesis 17:8) We are also heirs of Abram and are therefore bound to keep the covenant. How are we doing? What do we do each day to honor and love God and help one another keep covenant?

Prayer: God of Abraham, Creator of all - we thank you for being our God. Please guide us through this day in our covenant with you and with one another. Strengthen us for your Holy purpose, guide us in your Holy Way, and chase Satan from our doors and our paths. We need you Father, we love you Father and we seek you Father for in the midst of all the chaos there is you – for you alone are God. In Jesus Name we pray. AMEN!

Sunday Morning

"This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24. Stand up and shout to the Lord! It is the Day of Worship and Praise of God for His love, His pursuit and His diligence with us stiff-necked people. There is no place to be today except in Worship. Sabbath rest and Sabbath taking have little meaning without the Worship of God for He gives us the hope of eternal life through the sin-clearing, Resurrected Son - Jesus Christ.

Get up! Thank God for today for it was NOT promised yet it is here and we should be ready to praise His Holy Name in our community of faith. Let the world know your joy of being in relationship with God and with your neighbor!

Prayer: Heavenly Father thank you! You roused us this day for Your purpose. You have redeemed us through Your Son Jesus Christ. Help us to remember what wondrous love you have for us. Help us live this day as no other. Stir in us the joy to serve as Jesus served. Let the fruits of our service been seen as Glory to You, Creator, Savior and Sustainer - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - In Jesus Name we pray. AMEN!

Saturday Evening

Tomorrow is Sabbath. It is that day that I long for. God spoke to Moses and gave him this, "Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy;" maintain this day as mine, apart from all others, unlike all others and spend this day in worship and honor of me. So where do we go on Sabbath? What do we do on Sabbath? Whom do we honor and worship on Sabbath?

Let's try something for a month. Let's keep this fourth commandment. Let's set our work aside and give those who work for us a Sabbath rest. Let's focus our attention upon God, God's Creation and how it is that God wants us to live. Today's date is August 29, 2009 - on September 26, 2009 let's check back in to see how we did.

Prayer: God you have loved us for such a long time that we can have no memory except our own of your love for us. You sought us as broken, wounded and helpless. You lifted us through your grace, Jesus Christ and gave us the hope of eternal life. As we struggle to keep your will intact in us give us your wisdom and understanding that we may keep the Sabbath as holy, apart from all others, unlike all others and spent in worship of you. In the Redeeming Name of Jesus - AMEN!
