2 Corinthians 1:3-7, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ are abundant for us, so also our consolation is abundant through Christ. If we are being afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation; if we are being consoled, it is for your consolation, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we are also suffering. Our hope for you is unshaken; for we know that as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our consolation.”
There are times when we ‘go through things together.’ We, as a Nation are going through some things together.’ There is a war or terror being fought globally, the economic recession that we face each day and the disparate morality that takes more and more souls each day. We endure these afflictions together. We do not function in a vacuum. What one suffers we all suffer. While some may be closer to the impact of each of these circumstances we are all connected by our humanity, our faith and our love. Let’s pray for one another and endure with one another. Let’s help one another bear the burdens.
Prayer: Father of all Creation and Author of Life we praise You and thank You for this day that wasn’t promised. We thank You for hope and restoration through Jesus Christ. Help us to endure and persevere in faith through Jesus Christ for we pray these things in His Holy Name. Amen.
