The University of Toledo College GOP is fighting back against liberal bias in the classroom. They are compiling a list of student complaints about professors who openly denigrate conservative students, student opinions or ardently espouse their own liberal views on the students without regard to the nature of the classroom discussion.

We have all been there and heard that! There is little wonder why students get angry about comments made in classrooms where the discussions should be balanced and moderated by the professor or the teacher. Instead, we routinely hear about the openly and often militant tirades of liberal professors who have a ‘safe’ forum to express her or his agenda/viewpoint routinely tinged, stained or blatantly slanted with liberal propaganda.

These students reflect not just a GOP perspective but a right granted under the U.S. Constitution – that is the Right of Free Speech. They aren’t screaming ‘FIRE!’ in a crowded theater they are speaking out in a forum that will bring pressure to bear on university practices that prohibit the free exchange of ideas and information.

We can all take a lesson from this and the outrage that is being voiced in the legislator town hall meetings. In spite of charges that it is all Astroturf. We must speak up or be silenced forever. Take a page from this practice at Rocket U. We can stop this descent into socialism.
