Joshua 24:14-15, “Now therefore revere the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness; put away the gods that your ancestors served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. Now if you are unwilling to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served in the region beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” Ultimately, those who served other gods struck our Nation on 9-11-01. They called us the Great Satan because we are followers of Jesus Christ. Joshua stands there with his people and declares whom he and his household will serve. He speaks unashamedly about God’s importance in his life and lives of his family.
We should follow Joshua’s lead and not be dissuaded to political correctness where Jesus is reduced to some backroom whisper almost as though we’re ashamed to admit that we worship Him. Whatever my plight shall be, our home will follow and serve the LORD God, the Holy One of Israel, Jesus Christ. Wherever He leads I will follow.
Prayer: LORD fit us for Your purpose. Strengthen for Your service. Instruct us in Your Holy Way. For You are our God and we are Your people. Let us not stray from our faithfulness to You. Let us not reveal feet of clay, rather help us to be stalwart, responsive and servant in our ministry. In Jesus Redeeming Name we pray. AMEN!
