Isaiah 54:17, “No weapon that is fashioned against you shall prosper, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and their vindication from me, says the LORD.”
For those who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior nothing raised against us shall prevail. No matter the weapon, agony, evil intent and ill-directed arguments can prevail against those who love and serve Jesus Christ. We have inherited this promise from God.
In this age when all the weapons, devices and evil seem to be aimed at those who believe in Jesus Christ we read comfort from God through Isaiah’s prophecy. Jesus warned us that we will be reviled and persecuted for His Name sake. As we look backward to the prophets we encounter the powerful promise of God to the faithful remnant whose heirs in Christ we are. We inherit the covenant and promise of God made with the faithful of old. Nothing about God has ever changed. It is we humans who change away from God or toward God. We must remember that nothing can be raised or formed against us. Praise God for our salvation!
Prayer: Redeemer, Savior, Master - we love You. You strengthen us and stand with us, front and back and on each side. Nothing can claim us for You are Jesus Christ who by our faith saves us. Thank you for we pray this in Your Holy Name. AMEN.
