How would you like to live in Taxachusetts (Massachusetts)? During 2004 its state senators and representatives voted to change the law whereby the governor of the state (then Mitt Romney – Republican) would not be able to appoint the interim Senate replacement for what many thought would be the President-elect Senator John Kerry. So they (state senators and representatives) changed the law to having the state vote for a new senator.
Now that Senator Kennedy has died they (state senators and representatives) want Governor Deval Patrick (a Comrade Obama chum) to be able to pick the interim senator to have a voice and to preserve Massachusetts say in the Senate. Does anyone believe this rhetoric? Is there anyone in the room who thinks that the Massachusetts House of Representatives is doing anything in the interest of the people of Massachusetts? If they are really considering the people of Massachusetts, let the people speak through an election process.
I believe they (state senators and representatives) have heard the growing discontent with the political business as usual and they are worried - they can't trust to people to vote their way so they are going to control the outcome. The change the people voted for, that was promised, is not being delivered. The change the people and we are getting is a ramped up, haughty, Chicago-style, strong-arm-politics that keeps churning up the scum from the bottom of the political ocean. Even the liberal Massachusetts people are wondering why these people they elected can’t stay on task.
How about dealing with the truth for a change?
