2 Chronicles 7:14, “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” My friend and fellow veteran Ed (you’ll see his name to the left under one of the ‘no-picture boxes’), sent me an email with this scripture. I have thought and prayed upon these words of God who spoke to Solomon at the dedication of the Temple. I considered what these words mean to me today. My prayer is that somewhere among these words you too will find a message of promise from God.
“Turn from their wicked ways…” has a lot of gravity spiritually and communally. We as a people must recognize that the ACLU, who does Satan’s work, is diligently striving to destroy the very foundations of our experiment in freedom by removing each support premise that gives hope to the hapless, helpless and homeless of the world who were torn and destroyed by tyranny, fleeing that oppression to live freely and to worship God. The ACLU would have you believe that our founding Fathers were secularists who didn’t let one iota or scintilla of scripture, prayer or spiritual device seep into our documents of original founding. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
The Revolution in America didn’t happen in the meeting houses and town halls where the tyrannical British government watched and listened for seditious acts and words. The Revolution came in the Churches of this great land. Just as the Civil Rights movement wasn’t born in the 1960s rather in the belly of the slave ships and in the plantation slave churches across the land. Revolution came from within the spiritual being of this nation and was nurtured by prayer, worship and faithful devotion to God’s Holy Word, the greatest of all revolutionaries, Jesus Christ. Go to worship. Become a revolutionary in your community. Take God’s plea to the world. Tell Satan and his ACLU that we will no longer allow the mighty Word of God to be silent!!
Prayer: Father, hear our prayer. We come humbly before You and seek Your powerful love for our liberation from tyranny. Forgive our sins. Hear our prayers, for we offer these prayers in the powerful Name of Jesus. AMEN
