Rosh Hashanah

Leviticus 23:23-24, “The LORD spoke to Moses, saying: Speak to the people of Israel, saying: In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall observe a day of complete rest, a holy convocation commemorated with trumpet blasts.” Rosh Hashanah is the beginning of the year for the Jewish people. As God through Moses was leading the people away from slavery He was also establishing in this commission to Sabbath that the people celebrate their new beginning – a New Year in God’s freedom. We praise God for His presence and purpose in our lives and we celebrate with the people of Israel their New Year and say God Bless You and Keep you!

Prayer: Redeemer God, you have always led your people away from trouble and slavery. We know that we haven’t always followed your desires for our wholeness. Forgive us we pray that we may return to that Holy Way with You. We pray now for those who have yet to turn their hearts to You through Your Son our Savior Jesus Christ. Turn their hearts. Let this year be the year of redemption. In Jesus Name we pray. AMEN!
