Proverbs 4:14-19, “Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of evildoers. Avoid it; do not go on it; turn away from it and pass on. For they cannot sleep unless they have done wrong; they are robbed of sleep unless they have made someone stumble. For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day. The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what they stumble over.”
We’re standing in the intersection of divergent paths: the path of evildoers or the path of the righteous. If we step back and allow our eyes to adjust to the situation in our Nation today we see these divergent paths that the Wisdom literature gives us. Satan is the dark. Jesus Christ is the Light. With the Light our path is easily revealed but with the dark, much danger and risk awaits the travelers whose path is dark. We can’t take both paths. What is your choice? Look at those whom you’ve elected; unrighteous or righteous?
Prayer: Redeeming God you have given us a lighted path through Jesus Christ. Help us follow His Way. Help us remain strong and faithful. Give us the courage to face down tyranny, evil and darkness. In Jesus Christ we pray. AMEN
