Exodus 20:16, The Message, “No lies about your neighbor;” and the New Revised Standard Version, “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” Both versions of the Bible say the same thing DON’T TELL LIES. I am revisiting the issue of lies that Comrade Obama told in his speech to the joint session of Congress where Representative Joe Wilson said, “You lie!” Remember that?
Do you also remember the heart rending anecdote about the man whose health insurance was cut off in the middle of chemotherapy and he died? Guess what? That turns out to be a lie. It seems that the man, who died, Mr. Raddatz, wasn’t cut off from health insurance. In fact “Mr. Raddatz’s sister testified before Congress that Mr. Raddatz got a life saving treatment that extended his life for three years. And the insurance company covered it!
And Representative Hank Johnson said Representative Wilson’s outcry was racist. Representative Wilson was the only one being truthful. Former President Goober (Jimmah Carter) is chanting ‘racism,’ as is Newsweek magazine, the New York Times and well you see the direction that this is going. When all else fails the fall back position is to shout some emotionally charged words or phrases to get their politically correct attention.
Why aren’t we outraged at this behavior? As Christians we should be encouraging our Congressional leaders to attend to this bad behavior and call on Comrade Obama to stop lying. Representative Wilson cannot be the lone voice of our discontent.
God gave us one set of commands; the Ten Commandments. Jesus made it simple for us to understand. He summarized the first four as, “Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength;” and the remaining six as “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.” Pretty simple. Not one thing was added to what God originally said. So why do we complicate it? Why is it that Former President Carter, a professing Christian, cannot seem to get that through his head? Comrade Obama said we aren’t a Christian nation. He lied. He has no sense of history. In fact he’s a revisionist player of history. He lies.
