Exodus 20:13, “You shall not murder.” Harlan James Drake was offended by anti-abortion material that the activist, Jim Pouillon, had displayed across from the school all week. Drake, 33, is accused of shooting anti-abortion activist Jim Pouillon, 63. Pouillon used a walker and was on oxygen – CNN. So here we go again, Dr. Tiller, an abortion doctor, was murdered this summer and now a near invalid abortion opponent is murdered. The protests on both sides of the issue are about murder and yet murder is used in an attempt to remedy the ailment.
Abortion is murder. It is done with forethought and malice toward a blameless life. The only guilt that the murdered baby bore is that of being ill-conceived. Does that justify murder? Plaintiffs cries on the other side point to capital punishment as the dichotomy du jour declaring it to be murder. Compare the two. A blameless child versus a convicted murderer. And now we have a protester murdered by another protester.
Prayer: Creator God you didn’t form us to murder. You issued a commandment that we should not murder. Help us understand what it means to love one another as You have loved us. Forgive us for not loving You and for not loving our neighbor. Help us to repent and repair these broken relationships. In Jesus’ Name we pray. AMEN
